The Cost of Ziptrak® Outdoor Blinds in Singapore

Ziptrak® Outdoor Blinds in Singapore typically cost $24-30 per sq ft. The final price depends on factors such as the size, specific configuration and installation requirements of your blinds, so this range is best used as an estimate rather than a guaranteed quote.

What Affects the Price of Ziptrak® Outdoor Blinds

The Installer Other Retailers Rely On

Ziptrak® pricing is not simply based on the square footage of the blinds. Two balconies of a similar size can have different costs depending on their configuration and add on or upgrade options.
Size and Dimensions
The width and height of each opening affect the amount of fabric, tracks, and other components required for the installation. Note that the total balcony floor area is not the same as the total blind area.
The Number of Blinds and Their Configuration
The layout of the space can affect the number of blinds required. Factors such as the number of openings, corners, doors, existing structure, and different sections of the space can alter the quote.

This is why quotes for Ziptrak® blinds covering balconies with similar total areas can still differ. The configuration can change the cost significantly.
‍
Manual vs Motorised Operation
Ziptrak® blinds come in both manually operated or motorised versions, with the latter generally costing more.
  • Manual Blinds
These are hand-operated and suitable for users who don't require automation. They are more economical as they do not require add on motors.
  • Motorised Blinds
Motors are required as an add-on. These have a motor and electronic control components, and may also have specific electrical requirements to power the motor. They are generally for people who want more convenience, smart home integrations with apps like Google Alexa, linkage with weather sensors, or easy blind control in frequently used spaces.
Fabric Selections
Fabric choice can affect both the function and cost of your blinds. Different fabrics offer different levels of privacy, light control and outward visibility, while some options are designed to provide greater rain protection and acoustic features.

The right fabric depends on how you intend to use the space. For premium fabrics, fabric surcharges may apply.
Installation Requirements
Installation conditions can affect the final quotation for Ziptrak® blinds. Mounting surfaces, existing structures, access to the space, unusual installation conditions, and the number of openings are all factors here.

This is why a site assessment or proper measurement is useful before confirming the final price of the installation.

Why Ziptrak® Outdoor Blinds
‍May Cost More

Ziptrak® Outdoor Blinds may have a higher upfront cost than some other outdoor blind systems. The difference lies in the proprietary system, its patented side spline and SuperSpring®, aluminium materials, track-guided design, premium fabric options and precise installation involved.
Patented Side Spline that Locks in Fabric
Inspired by sailboat sails, Ziptrak®’s patented side spline runs along the edges of the fabric and sits within the side tracks. This helps keep the fabric securely retained and taut as the blind is raised or lowered, reducing the flapping that can occur with some conventional drop-down blinds.

Testing by TÜV SÜD PSB has shown the system capable of withstanding static wind loads of up to 260km/h on a 2m x 2m blind, reflecting the engineering and structural performance built into the system.
SuperSpring® System for Effortless Manual Operation
Ziptrak®'s patented SuperSpring® system uses a spring mechanism to balance the weight of the blind, allowing manual blinds to be raised and lowered with just your fingertips – no cords, cranks or pulleys.

Each blind is fitted with a spring matched to its configuration and size, helping to provide smooth and balanced operation. The SuperSpring® mechanism is also covered by a 10-year warranty, subject to the applicable warranty terms.
Heavier Aluminium Profiles for Singapore’s Weather
Ziptrak® uses extruded aluminium components that are engineered for heavy rain and strong winds. The extra thickness gives the frame the rigidity needed for an outdoor blind system exposed to Singapore's sun, rain and wind.

These aluminium components are also designed for corrosion resistance and are covered by a five-year warranty.
Choice of DualDrive® for Flexible
Operation
Ziptrak® offers different operating configurations to suit how you want to use your blinds. One option is DualDrive®, which combines the convenience of motorised operation with Ziptrak®’s spring-balanced manual system in a single blind.

This gives you the convenience of motorised control while retaining the option to operate the blind manually when needed, such as during a power outage or if the remote isn’t within reach.
Specially Engineered Fabrics to Suit Homeowners’ Needs
Ziptrak® offers a range of specially engineered fabrics, allowing homeowners to choose an option suited to their needs, from privacy and light control to outward visibility and other features.

For example, RainOut® Acoustic is an outdoor fabric designed to provide rain protection while allowing natural light into the space. It also offers sound-dampening properties, and was tested to reduce sound levels by an average of 11.9 dB.
